Kirill Kipyatkov's main topics are people and human activities. To date, his most famous topic is sports. It turned into a large-scale series of paintings "Colors of Sports", which was presented at numerous exhibitions. Since 2017, the artist has also been addressing the theme of the Moscow marathons. In his works, he combines the theme of sports with the Moscow urban landscape, the strength of the human spirit and the grandeur of architectural monuments.
Kirill Kipyatkov is the first artist in Russia who regularly works with reflective materials in art: he uses reflective fabric as the basis for painting, and reflective beads and powder as components of coverages. In this way, he creates a special optical effect in his works, which look different in different lighting conditions.
The Marathon exhibition at the Rébellion presents author's prints from the most bright thematic paintings by Kipyatkov and paintings, including a site-specific painting "Cyclists" on reflective fabric specially created for this space.
