THE SERIES "QUIET PASTURE"

Andrey Lyublinsky combined the new images of 2022 into the series “Quiet Pasture". He creates another universe populated by mythological zoomorphic creatures. All of them are colorful and bright, many of them have two heads, like a Push-Pull from a famous fairy tale. Combined of simple geometric shapes, the characters look like they came out of an old computer game, as if they could fly, jump, crawl and swim. Neither good nor evil they just continue to live their own lives, beyond our knowledge of them.

FROM THE SERIES "SIMPLE LANDSCAPES"

This art project is based on the photographs of the most recognizable and well-known landscapes and views of Moscow and St.Petersburg, found on Internet and brought to graphic minimalism. Despite the maximum generalization, the images easily reveal familiar street curves, majestic architecture, as well as other characteristic features of the urban landscape in the images, that inevitably immerse the viewer into the unique atmosphere of both capitals.

Making his research of the languages of popular culture, Lublinsky consistently blurs the borders between contemporary art and design, "artistic gesture" and construction. Due to his regular work with vector graphics and 3D objects the artist came to the idea to develop "universal constructors" that allowed him confidently invade into the most diverse spheres of both traditional and contemporary art.

The series was presented by LUCH Gallery at the Cosmoscow Fair in 2020. The images were printed on wooden panels, size 13,5x20 sm, the limited edition include 25 items.

MICKEY MOUSE

The series of 2020. Suprematist Mickey Mouse. The author used the famous painting by Kazimir Malevich "Sportsmen" as a visual code for creating a new object-character. Composed of simple geometric shapes, Mickey Mouse refers to the works of Suprematists as well as to the aesthetics of Bauhaus and Memphis group. There are about 15 objects in the "Suprematist" series, united by the same shape, but each one has a unique graphics.

FROM THE SERIES “FUNNY GUYS"

Andreу Lyublinsky developed a series of new characters for the First Public Art Festival CHO which took place in Yekaterinburg at the beginning of 2021. The full quantitative and visual composition of characters represents the "Project of Artistic and Spatial Orientation" - the name was given due to the festival format.

The interaction of the audience with the characters was both real and virtual. Real objects were placed in an urban environment and were extended in the digital dimension. On Instagram platform @cho_fest anyone could settle any character anywhere in the world with the help of masks, could listen to a funny melody and find out their names - Elete, Ixy, Vajez, Tedel, etc.

Author's comment:
"The slogan “To stay firmly on your feet” was declared as the motto of the event - I came up with a series of (mostly) abstract characters standing firmly on thin multi-colored legs. I wanted to make a big company of such creatures, something like a terracotta army, but more funny. Taking into account the conditions, it was decided to make the bas-reliefs, in total there were 14 characters, each one about 2 meters high. But this seemed not enough for me, so masks were developed on Instagram, thanks to which the characters came into life, they could make sounds, and it was also possible to find out their names (the animation design turned out to be also cool). Well, I followed up with a run of prints, they look no worse on paper than in 3D. The project turned out to be quite difficult to fulfill, considering that in the midst of my work, I got sick with covid. In general, it was not easy, but everything worked out."

Especially for the Cosmoscow Fair 2021 Andrey adapted his new characters for different exhibition conditions - he created them in the form of a round sculpture made of painted metal.
