With the image of the farthest south, Antarctica, Alina expands our vision of the "south" as something warm, recreational and pleasant. She has already participated in several Antarctic expeditions, including a circumnavigation. It is there, in these crystal spaces, she finds inspiration and themes for her art. And in the beautiful Latin translation of the word "southern" as "meridionali", the artist sees a romantic and technical reference to the meridians close to her.

The image of the South as a state of mind.
It seems that the south always lies somewhere lower on the map, it is always a movement down the meridian. And it seems that the further south you go, the hotter it gets. Over the past 10 years, two kinds of south have appeared in my life: my tender Crimea and my fierce Antarctica.
The exhibition combines images of two states of the south: hot and pushed to its very limits – icy. I am trying to show that for me there is no contradiction between them. They are two faces of the same sensations: the desire for silence and light, for an open horizon, for a state when the inner compass ceases to distinguish between heat and cold, but only points to a "home" where you can be alone with yourself and with the nature.
